NCL2 – From Start to Finish

The project

DroneCam Solutions Ltd were appointed for a fourth time by our client, to capture weekly drone photography and videography for an 82-week project of the construction of a large fulfilment centre. 

What we delivered

We started our weekly visits in June 2021 with our last visit in December 2022, documenting the project during groundworks through to completion. Our drone photography was used for various purposes including; planning, progress reports, health and safety and staff inductions. 

Having weekly construction photography gave a clear picture of how the site was developing, monitoring the site condition and the drone perspective enabled a clear, regularly updated picture for future works planning. Particularly with a large site where the layout, i.e. vehicle routes and staff walkways are changing on a regular basis as the construction progresses.

In addition to the general imagery of the site from key angles, we provided weekly Orthomosaics which were made up of approximately 180 individual images stitched together, this is a great example of how you can see the layout of the site changing throughout the project.

We also provided high resolution drone videos of the project alongside the weekly drone images, this was a short, 1 minute video to compliment the images. Clips from this were taken to produce the below video which is a highlights video from the project.

You are also able to see some added footage that we provided from when a nationwide first for our client took place, where a helicopter was used to complete heavy lifting instead of cranes. More on this on our previous blog.
